Ann Nguyen
Ph.D. student
Research Background:
Ann`s background is in food science and the regulation of food products under both USDA and FDA jurisdictions. Prior to joining our lab, she spent a few years in a federal research lab where she developed immunoassays and analytical methods for detection of food allergens and investigated the effect of food additives and ingredients on allergen uptake through the gut membrane. Now, her research involves around the microfluidic platform and the adoption of this technology to develop enhanced detection/diagnostic tools and to address many unsolved questions in life sciences. She is also interested in bridging the gap between science and public health policies and hopes to become a better science communicator as a result of her graduate training.
Current Research:
Microfluidic platform for antibiotic susceptibility testing, Biosensor
